Down to the sea
View looking down towards the sea in Aurora Street, Petone. The sailing ship Aurora, was one of the very first early settlor ship, arriving here in January 1840. Immigrants landed at Petone Beach and were welcomed by the local tribes who helped them settle in. Many of the streets running north from the beach are named after the group of first settlor ships to arrive here in 1840 shortly after the Aurora.
