Wellington South Coast
The cutting –Mirimar
I had just dropped a friend off at Wellington airport and decided to take the ‘round the bays’ road home. This was the scene I spotted looking back from a friend’s boatshed as I passed. The rain had just stopped and the leaden sky was lifting over a calm day.
Summer – karaka bay
On the other side of Mirimar Peninsula lies Karaka Bay, Like a sleepy secret holiday spot so close to town , Grand pohutakawa trees line the roadside leading to the rocks
The Red Phone Box - Karaka Bay
The now famous red phone box, right next to Karaka bay wharf. Wellington harbour pilots once used to board their pilot vessels here to head out to meet the ships and guide then into the harbour. It is quite probably the last old phone box around.
Southerly Swell – South Wellington Coast
I struck it lucky this day, I had my camera, the day fine and huge waves were relaying the message that there had been a big storm further south. Seeing he waves fighting and smashing their way through the rocks trying to stop them was awesome to see.
Southerly – Breaker Bay
Twilight – Island Bay
A great place to come and see sunsets
